Artist Bio:


Recent paintings in South Africa by Chris are mainly watercolour landscapes. Chris, born in Cape Town, has for many years been resident in Norway and is now in Durbanville. He is an ecological architect, author of many books and articles on environment, energy and sustainable development, and university
course leader. He has lived and worked in countries including France and Bhutan in addition to Scandinavia. He has also translated Buddhist texts from Tibetan and is a keen organic gardener and musician.

Arthouse Academy is a local art school located in the heart of the Somerset West CBD that offers a variety of Art Classes and Art Workshops for students of different ages and experience.

ADULT ART CLASSES

It’s never too late to get creative! Are you a first-time brush holder? Is your creative flame in need of rekindling? Or do you just want to brush up on your art skills? Then Art House Academy’s adult classes are perfect for you.

Learn the very basics of drawing and painting in a relaxed and encouraging environment.

Materials:

  • 1 x A3 Cartridge drawing pad
  • All other basic art supplies will be provided

Cost:

  • R800 per month payable in advance

Class times:

  • Monday evenings 18:30 – 21:00
  • Tuesday mornings 8:30 – 11:00

Bookings are essential.

INTERMEDIATE ART CLASSES

Practice and further develop your painting and/or drawing skills by exploring different themes in a relaxed and encouraging environment.

Materials:

Students are responsible for bringing their own art materials and references.

Cost:

  • R800 per month payable in advance

Class times:

  • Wednesday mornings 8:30 – 11:00
  • Tuesday evenings 18:30 – 21:00

Bookings are essential.

ADVANCED ART CLASSES

Learn to develop concepts and express own interpretations of specific themes in a relaxed and encouraging environment.

Materials:

  • 1 x A4 journal
  • Students are responsible for bringing their own art materials

Cost:

  • R800 per month

Class times:

  • Monday afternoons 14:00 – 16:30
  • Thursday evenings 18:30 – 21:00

Jumpring Jewellery Classes & Studio

Jumpring Jewellery Classes offers Jewellery Skills Mini Courses and Studio space to students and jewellery enthusiasts who would like to learn to create jewellery from metals and semi precious stones.
